Soroptimist International of Los Angeles maintained residence housing for students at USC from 1949 through 1994. Club members also contributed furnishings and provided mentorship to our residents. Alumni of the Soroptimist House recently hosted a reunion and I was honored to be invited as a representative of Soroptimist International of Los Angeles (more on the Soroptimist House and reunion in an article below).
I will never forget how it felt to hear their stories and memories of what was obviously a special place and time.
Soroptimists work hard to help our communities and fulfill our mission of improving the lives of women and girls through access to education. It is a very special thing to be welcomed by a group of amazing women sharing the impact our club has had on their lives.
I am very grateful to the Soroptimist House alumni for this experience, and I am in awe of our club members who dreamed of this project that would help hundreds of women achieve their educational goals.
